About Me

Dr. Al-Mondhiry received his medical degree from the University of Baghdad in 1961. He trained in Internal Medicine at New York Polyclinic Hospital and New York Medical College Hospitals. He did a three-year Hematology Fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center Bronx, NY. In July 1971 he joined Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and served as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cornell University College of Medicine, New York, NY. He went back to Baghdad, Iraq in 1975, where he established a Section of Clinical Hematology at the University of Baghdad Teaching Hospital and served as Acting Chairman of the Department of Medicine (1976-1977). He returned to the U.S. and joined the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in September 1980. He is an experienced clinician, clinical educator and researcher with special interest in Bleeding and Thrombotic Disorders and Non-Malignant Hematology.
