Biographical Information:

Timothy Mosher is the Kenneth L. Miller Chair of the Department of Radiology and Distinguished Professor of Radiology and Orthopaedic Surgery at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine. 

Prior to becoming chair, Dr. Mosher was the Vice Chair for Radiology Research, Chief of the Division of Musculoskeletal Imaging and Director of MRI.  He is a graduate of Ursinus College and The University of Virginia where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s degree in physical chemistry.  After completing medical training and a residency in diagnostic radiology at Penn State College of Medicine and Hershey Medical Center, he finished a two-year MRI research fellowship with Dr. Michael Smith at Penn State and a clinical MRI fellowship with Dr. Elias Zerhouni at Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Mosher is a clinical musculoskeletal radiologist with research interest in quantitative MRI for evaluation of articular cartilage and osteoarthritis and application of MRI in multicenter clinical trials.  Dr. Mosher is a fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.  He serves on the Board of Directors for the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine.  Dr. Mosher has published over 70 books and manuscripts with the majority in the area of musculoskeletal imaging, quantitative cartilage imaging, and MRI technical development.
