Assistant Vice President, Government Health Relations, Penn State

Sheilah Borne is Assistant Vice President of Governmental Affairs for Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and College of Medicine.  As such, she represents Penn State Hershey on the local, state and federal levels on legislative and regulatory matters before elected and appointed governmental bodies.

Prior to her arrival at Penn State Hershey in 2004, Ms. Borne was Assistant Director of the Office of Public Health Preparedness in the Pennsylvania Department of Health. She also served as a senior appointee in both the Ridge and Schweiker gubernatorial administrations as Director of Legislative and Public Affairs for the Department of Labor and Industry and the Deputy Director for Homeland Security for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, respectively.

Ms. Borne also served in the private sector as the Chief Operating Officer of the 521 Management Group. 

Ms. Borne earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Temple University and began her professional career as a congressional aid in Washington, DC serving for seven years as a senior staff member to U.S. Congressman George W. Gekas.

She serves on the Executive Committee of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, where she chairs the Chamber's Government Relations Committee. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children, the Executive Board of the Modern Transit Partnership, and Shalom House (a homeless shelter for women and children). She is also an elected member of the Paxtang Borough Council. Sheilah resides in Paxtang Borough with her husband, Timothy Fuller, and their two children.
