Penn State Hershey has one of top U.S. shoulder surgeons
Dr. April Armstrong, orthopaedic surgeon, shoulder and elbow, Penn State Hershey Bone and Joint Institute, and associate professor, orthopaedics and rehabilitation, Penn State College of Medicine, was recently recognized as one of the “Top 28 U.S. Shoulder Surgeons” by Orthopedics This Week. To create the list, shoulder surgeons from across the country provided their feedback on who they felt were the best orthopaedic surgeons in the subspecialty.
This is what was said about Armstrong: “She is a rising star, and has developed several models of glenoid bone loss. She is very involved in resident education and instructs other faculty on how to best educate residents.”
Armstrong has been a member of the Penn State Hershey faculty since 2003. In 2011, she received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching from Penn State College of Medicine and in 2012, she was recognized by her orthopaedic peers with the AAOS Achievement Award, from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
