21st Annual Pennsylvania Immunization Conference

Each year the Pennsylvania Immunization Coalition (PAIC) in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians, and the Penn State College of Medicine sponsors a conference to bring immunization partners together to share information, discuss current issues, and recommend strategies to improve immunization rates in Pennsylvania. 

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the conference, participants should be able to: 

1. Describe the latest updates on vaccine-preventable diseases and vaccines 
2. Discuss the major features of recommended vaccines 
3. Implement principles of practice-based change to improve immunization rates 
4. List major changes to the Pennsylvania Statewide Immunization Information System (PA SIIS) 
5. Identify the pharmacists role in immunizing individuals 18 years of age and older in their communities

The PIC is targeted towards private and public health care professionals from throughout Pennsylvania and the surrounding region.  This would include:

CME ACCREDITATION

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of Penn State College of Medicine, Pennsylvania Department of Health and Pennsylvania Immunization Coalition (PAIC).  Penn State College of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Penn State College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM.

Penn State University has approved this program for 0.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

The Pennsylvania Department of Health is an approved provider of continuing education for registered nurses in Pennsylvania under Act 58 of 2006 and 49 PA Code, Chapter 21 ยง 21.134 (Continuing Education Sources) of the rules and regulations of the State Board of Nursing. 

Pursuant to Act 48 of 1999, Section 1205.2 (Program of Continuing Professional Education) (d), the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Division of School Health is an Approved Provider of the Pennsylvania Department of Education. 

This training is approved for 6.0 continuing education hours for both Act 48 and Act 58.

The Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  Successful completion of this session will provide participants with 5.0 live contact hour credits. Please note that knowledge-based program has been assigned the UAN#: 0322-9999-14-013-L04-P . Successful completion of this program requires the participant to attend the entire program, complete attendance verification form including date of birth information and personal NABP number, and complete the entire program evaluation form online

PRE-CONFERENCE EVENT
The Pennsylvania Immunization Coalition will hold a General Membership Meeting on (Date) from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.  There is no cost to attend the general membership meeting but pre-registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided.

There is a $$$ cost for attending PIC and $$$ cost per student(authorization required).  Cancellations before 4:00 p.m. on Date, will receive a full refund.  No refunds after that time and date.  Substitutions can be made by notifying the registration office.
