We believe that success in graduate school is fostered by close student-faculty interactions. To foster this goal, students plan their curriculum with the guidance of CMB faculty members. Students also submit yearly updates of their progress in coursework and research to the faculty and present a yearly seminar on their research efforts. Students are able to interact closely with faculty through laboratory rotations and other events, such as the yearly Graduate Student Forum. Through this process of mentoring, we believe it is possible to provide the best in graduate training in an environment that is student-friendly and designed to give the student the widest possible leeway in selecting a course of study tailored to his/her individual needs.
A central and important part of the graduate program is the Biomedical Sciences seminar series. A schedule of seminar speakers for the current academic semester can be found on our web site. Also contained on the web site are the course requirements and a complete copy of the CMB Program Guidelines.
Please take the time to look through these pages to acquaint yourself with the opportunities that we provide for graduate study. If you have any questions, please contact the CMB office at cmb-grad-hmc@psu.edu or 717- 531-1045. We look forward to hearing from you.
