Improve Care Now - Using Patient Data to Transform Care and Improve Outcomes for Children with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IRB# 42273)

Description:

The purpose of this project is to design, develop, and test further refinements to an improvement and research network focused on Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), to use a registry to simultaneously improve clinical care, re-design care delivery systems and to conduct quality improvement, health services, outcomes, and comparative effectiveness research.

 

 

Eligibility:

Inclusion:  IBD diagnosis and a current patient at the HMC pediatric gastroenterology.

 

 

Additional Study Details:

Information from participant's medical record on his/her disease will be collected and entered into the password protected database.

Information that will be collected and recorded in the database includes: demographics (ex: gender, date of birth, race), disease history (ex: diagnosis, family history, disease severity and location), physical exam (ex: weight, height, BMI), and treatment and testing of disease (ex: biopsy reports, medications, bone density, surgeries or complications etc.)
Information will be collected and entered into the data base until participants are no longer a patient at the Penn State Hershey Pediatric Gastroenterology Clinic.
