James D. George is vice president, Community Relations, for The Hershey Company. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s corporate social responsibility programs and community involvement, both locally and internationally. Jim, a graduate of Grove City College with a degree in business administration, joined The Hershey Company in 1984 and has held positions in several areas of the company throughout his career, including sales, merchandising, and packaging before being named vice president, Community Relations, in February 2008. One of his many responsibilities is lending support for the company’s charitable programs including Children’s Miracle Network. For Jim, who lives by The Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” his new role is a natural fit.
While Jim has been an Advisory Board member for a short time, The Hershey Company has been a long time supporter of Children's Miracle Network. He is honored to serve on the Advisory Board where he looks forward to having a more direct impact on his company's involvement with Children’s Miracle Network. Support of Children’s Miracle Network connects very well with Milton Hershey's philosophy of helping children in need. The Hershey Company’s primary corporate social responsibility focus is supporting children and children at risk. Children's Miracle Network is very well aligned with that mission.
Jim and his family live in Hershey, where he may be found enjoying a re-run of his favorite television show, “Seinfeld.” In the community, Jim also serves on the Hershey Rotary and rides annually in a MS-150 Bike Ride, in support of Multiple Sclerosis. He is an Eagle Scout, active in the Hershey area Boy Scout program and an elder at Derry Presbyterian Church.
Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital is honored to have Jim serve as a member of our Advisory Board. Thank you, Jim, for your selfless service!
