Getting Started

The program offers a Master of Science in Public Health Sciences degree, or a Certificate in Clinical Research, as well as the opportunity to take selected courses that will advance your specific career goals as a non-degree student.

To apply to the Clinical Research Training Program (CRTP):

  • Print, complete and submit the appropriate CRTP Application form (see instructions on the form)
  • Go to http://gradsch.psu.edu/portal/ and complete the Penn State graduate school application.
  • All applicants must complete the MS-PHS degree application at this site.
  • The CRTP Advisory Committee meets regularly to review complete applications and will provide written notification of a decision.

 All CRTP candidates:

After your application is reviewed by the CRTP Adivisory Committee and if you are accepted into the program, you will then be considered for acceptance to  the Penn State Graduate School.

 Certificate only:

After 15 Penn State graduate credits are earned, the candidate may stop and request a Clinical Research certificate, or go on to complete 15 additional credits for the Master of Science degree.

If you have not yet provided an official transcript, please request them to be sent to the PHS Graduate Program immediately from all post-secondary schools where you received a degree.

Each new student will be assigned an academic advisor from a list of qualified faculty members. The advisor will work with the student and mentor to craft an appropriate academic curriculum that starts in the fall semester.
