Welcome to the Penn State Hershey Office of Faculty Affairs

The Office of Faculty Affairs is responsible for faculty appointments, promotions, and tenure at the College of Medicine. The information on this website applies to tenure-track and fixed-term faculty members in basic science and clinical departments who are employed by the Penn State College of Medicine or the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. (Regardless of the employing entity, all faculty appointments are granted by the Dean of the College of Medicine.) In addition, information is provided on joint, clinical, and adjunct faculty appointments at the College of Medicine. Links to relevant Penn State University and College of Medicine policies are provided.

The Office of Faculty Affairs is committed to fair and equitable promotion and tenure processes and to ensuring transparency of policies and procedures. Faculty members are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with Departmental, College, and University policies and procedures relevant to their type of academic appointment. Questions should be directed to the faculty member’s Department Chair or to the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs.
