Services Now Available in Hanover
Everybody Benefits

When a community hospital and local cardiologists can collaborate with a major academic medical center to extend heart care options for patients, everybody benefits. A renewed affiliation between Hanover Hospital and Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center means residents of Hanover and the surrounding region can now be seen for both common and complex heart conditions without going far from home.

Experts from Penn State Hershey Heart and Vascular Institute (PSHVI) are seeing patients at Hanover Hospital and Hanover Cardiology Associates (310 Stock St., Suite 3) on a regular basis for advanced diagnostics, consultations, and follow-up care for rhythm disorders, heart failure, and other cardiovascular conditions. Primary care physicians can conveniently refer their patients to Hanover, knowing that further interventions can be quickly arranged at the Medical Center in Hershey (or elsewhere) if necessary.

Diagnostic cardiac catheterization (every Monday and Friday at Hanover Hospital)

Heart failure consultation/follow-up (fourth Thursday of every month at Hanover Cardiology Assoc.)

Electrophysiology (abnormal rhythm) consultation/follow-up (second Thursday of every month at Hanover Cardiology Assoc.)

This affiliation also offers increased access to clinical studies that are providing new knowledge that may, one day, lead to better treatments and even a cure for heart disease.

To schedule clinic appointments, patients or their primary care doctors should call the Penn State Hershey Heart and Vascular Institute’s Access Center at 1-877-GO-PSHVI. To schedule cardiac catheterization procedures at Hanover Hospital, referring physicians should call the hospital’s cardiac catheterization lab at 717-633-3551.
