Iliac artery bypass

Iliac arteries (lower abdomen leading to the legs) are just to the left side of the body. The abdominal aorta divides into two common iliac arteries, supplying blood to much of the lower limbs and the internal iliac artery, which supplies the viscera and the walls of the pelvis. A bypass is performed to route fresh, oxygenated blood around a blockage in the iliac artery.
