Research Subject Information

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) has the responsibility for protecting the rights and welfare of the subjects of human research conducted at the Penn State College of Medicine and Penn State Hershey Medical Center. The Human Subjects Protection Office (HSPO) assists the IRB in providing oversight to ensure that research is performed in accordance with regulations, institutional policies and Guiding Ethical Principles.  The information and links below are provided as resources for individuals considering participating as subjects in research. Also, presentations are available to groups interested in learning about research protection topics and may be scheduled by contacting the HSPO.
