Medical Student Liability

The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine is provided medical malpractice coverage with limits of $3 million per occurrence subject to an annual aggregate of $5 million for all students and occurrences.

This coverage is for errors and omissions which may be incurred by students while acting within the scope of their duties for the educational rotation at your institution and while under the appropriate supervision of your medical staff. The coverage is provided by the University's self-insurance program through the Nittany Insurance Company, a Vermont captive insurance company. No coverage is afforded for any exposures by the student beyond their approved curriculum.
