Medicine Clerkship "Single Day" Holiday Policy
According to the Department of Student Affairs Website: (http://infonet.hmc.psu.edu/students-affairs/registrar.ms3/policy.html)
"Single day holiday vacations (i.e., Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day) are determined by the clinical service."
Medicine Clerkship students on rotation at Hershey during single day holidays will be given off the DAY OF the holiday (i.e. July 4th). However, regardless of what day of the week the single day holiday may fall on, that day and ONLY THAT DAY will be considered the holiday. Additional days before or after are to be treated as regular work days and all students are expected to report for regular hours.
Medicine Clerkship students on rotation at an affiliate site will be required to follow the guidelines of the respective sites holiday leave policy.
Any questions regarding this information should be directed to the Clerkship Coordinator:

Distribution of Final Grades
Students must complete all clerkship requirements, as well as any remedial and/or retesting requirements before a final grade will be assigned. Failure to successfully complete remedial information in a timely manner may result in a grade of "unsatisfactory" for the clerkship. Students with incomplete clerkship grades may also be prohibited from participation in other medicine rotations/electives, which require successful completion of the clerkship as a prerequisite.
