AAV2: Ground Breaking Research

Unfortunately, the studies reported are not yet in clinical trials with humans. Our goal is to obtain necessary financial support to finish our studies in the laboratory and move into the clinic. We appreciate your concern and your support. Hopefully, the right people will see the report and provide the support we need to carry on the research. We wish you the best and pray that someday no one will have to live with the threat of cancer. Sorry about the form letter but the response is overwhelming.

Update:
As of today (1/3/06) we have not yet been able to obtain funding to proceed with our studies to treat cancer with AAV2. Many of the groups who seemed so anxious when the news was first released to help support our efforts all faded away. they all wanted us to do the next study, the irony is without funding we are unable to move to the next step. We have written grants to both government and philanthropic organizations for funds. One that was sent to the Department of Defense to pursue breast cancer treatment has been reviewed so far. Let's just say there was a miscommunication. We have learned from that effort and still have a couple of grants waiting for review and are preparing others. The big news is that we have been contacted by an international group which represents a group the suffers from HPV infections and are highly interested in supporting preclinical trials for using AAV2 to treat HPV infections. I am in the process of preparing a proposal to AAV2 safety and efficacy in animal models. If this is successful, then they are also interested in supporting clinical trials. Whereas this will not be to test all the cancers that AAV2 may affect, it is a significant beginning. I will try to keep this site updated on our progress.

We have also no tested AAV2's affect on melanoma and mesothelioma cancer cells with positive effects.
