The challenge of medical-surgical nursing is best experienced on this forty-three bed unit where nurses care for adult patients with complex, multi-system health problems.

Our vision is to provide exceptional patient focused care by a team of highly skilled professional providers. We focus on communication, education, and support between staff, patients, and their families.

43 Trauma, GI Medicine, and Surgical Beds

Staffing decisions are based on patient acuity. Typically it will be 1:4 and 1:5.

Self Scheduling is available for a variety of shifts. Staff nurses from the scheduling committee work with a clinical head nurse to develop schedules that meet personal and floor needs.

We offer a personalized orientation with dedicated preceptors.

  • BLS, ACLS, Trauma Certification
  • Ongoing inservices, lunch and learns, and annual competencies
  • Applying for Clinical Ladder and Certification in area of specialty is strongly encouraged and financially rewarded.
  • An educator specific to the unit is available for questions or any further educational needs.
