Children's Hospital - Pediatric Intermediate Care

Children's Hospital

The Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (PIMCU) is a state of the art, multidisciplinary unit that provides care for infants, children and adolescents who require continuous monitoring for critical illnesses or injuries. Our team possesses the knowledge, skill and judgment to provide timely assessment and treatment ensuring the best possible outcomes from critical illness and injury. We provide our services in a family-centered atmosphere, encouraging family to be an integral part of the child’s care.

The nursing staff in the PIMCU are compassionate, dedicated, skilled, and collaborative.  They provide expert care for patients and their families.  When given a problem, the staff works together to improve patient outcomes.  They do what’s right for the patient, giving even our tiniest patients a “voice”.  It is my privilege to work with such an amazing and talented group of staff.”  - Amy, Nurse Manager

“Every day is different in the PIMCU. I enjoy working here because I learn something new every day. We have a great group of nurses that support each other and work together as a team. The physicians and management respect our knowledge and expertise so we may provide the care our population and families deserve.” - Linda, RN
