Postpartum Depression

Many new moms experience the baby blues after childbirth, a form of depression that begins a few days to a week after delivery and generally lasts no longer than two weeks. But some new moms experience a more severe form known as postpartum depression. Postpartum depression lasts longer and is more intense than "baby blues." If you have postpartum depression, prompt treatment can help you manage your symptoms and enjoy your baby.  Your healthcare provider can best determine whether you have PPD. Here are some resources that can help you understand and cope with this condition.
