Penn State Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, located in State College, Pennsylvania, provides a range of orthopaedic services to the community including athletic medicine, surgery, and clinical follow-up to the central Pennsylvania area. In addition, each of our physicians serve as team physicians for the Intercollegiate Athletic Sports Teams at Penn State University, providing the fellow with ample exposure to both the team physician and athletic populations. The fellow will play a role in onsite field coverage for athletic teams as scheduling demands and experience and interest dictate. He or she may become involved with any one of the 29 Division 1A sports, as well as participate in any of our club programs such as ice hockey and rugby.
Penn State Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine also provides all medical care for the State College Spikes, the New York-Penn League’s Class A minor league located adjacent to the Penn State University campus.
Our staff consists of orthopaedic surgeons, primary care physicians, certified athletic trainers, and an on-site team of physical therapists. Our team has nationally reviewed and published research in numerous journals including topics in traumatic brain injury, shoulder and knee reconstruction and athletic medicine.
Although education is the primary goal of our fellowship program, excellence and compassion in the care of each individual patient are equally important objectives.
