How to Apply

Individuals interested in the residency program are encouraged to submit an application to the department for review. Penn State College of Medicine is a participant of ERAS and the NRMP Match. Applicants with suitable qualifications will be invited to visit the department.

The interview is designed to put the applicant at ease. We offer a 2 half-day interview process that provides you flexibility when planning your travel. Welcome remarks by the Chairman, Program Director and the Chair of the Residency Recruitment committee begin the less formal part of the interview process. Tours of Medical Center, Pain Medicine Center, and College of Medicine are provided. Applicants are provided with an opportunity to participate in our nationally acclaimed Simulation Lab where you can experiment with the mannequin and other equipment that makes our Simulation Lab unique. The more formal part of the interview process consists of individual interviews including an interview debriefing with our Chairman. The entire process would not be complete without your having the chance to meet our residents and have a candid discussion asking them any questions you may have. A luncheon is provided during the second day maximizing your opportunity to meet our residents. Optional tours of the University Fitness Center and the University Manor Apartments can be arranged.
