The medical laboratory staff provides anatomic and clinical pathology testing to physicians, hospitals, industry, community and home health agencies, government agencies, researchers and other healthcare providers. Pathologists are available for routine consultations during regular working hours. A pathologist is on call 24 hours a day for emergency consultations. Specialty areas in clinical pathology include donor and transfusion services, clinical chemistry, clinical toxicology, hematology and coagulation studies, histocompatibility, microbiology and virology, radio-immunoassay studies, and cytogenetics.
