Thursday Didactics

 

On Thursdays all residents spend the entire morning in a variety of academic activities. Every week begins with the general didactic series, followed by the psychotherapy seminar. A rotating schedule of activities such as Journal Club, Forensic Rounds. Evidence-Based Scholarly Presentation and Ethics Rounds occupies another portion of the morning. Regular meetings with the Residency Training Director, the Chair of Psychiatry, or the executive staff of PPI are also scheduled, as are informal resident meetings.
 
Adult Psychiatry Residency General Didactic series:
The lower- year residents (1 &2) and upper- year residents (3 &4) each attend lectures over a 2 year cycle. Lectures are grouped around certain themes, such as Basic and Advanced Psychopharmacology, Cultural Competence, Diagnostic Overview, etc.
