Breast Imaging at Penn State is a comprehensive service offering screening mammography and a full complement of diagnostic services that include minimally invasive biopsies and Breast MRI.

Our Breast Imaging service is fully accredited and has been awarded
“Breast Imaging Center of Excellence” by the Commission on Quality and Safety and the Commission on Breast Imaging of the American College of Radiology.
We are a fully Digital department and use computer aided detection (CAD) in the interpretation of each mammogram, and participate in the integrated image archiving system (PACS) of the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. All mammography is performed with full field, direct digital capture. All images can be viewed instantaneously, to assure the highest quality. These images can also be viewed by other providers and transferred electronically. Our state of the art equipment includes high resolution Ultrasound including Doppler and elastography, and a 1.5 Tesla Open Bore MRI with dedicated diagnostic and biopsy breast coils and Dynacad in MRI interpretation. We offer all minimally invasive breast biopsies with mammographic, ultrasound or MRI guidance.
All Breast images are interpreted by a group of Breast Radiologists who are dedicated to this specialty practice. Our Breast Radiologists are involved in the multidisciplinary care of breast disease at the Penn State Hershey Breast Center and as members of the Breast Cancer team of the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute. We communicate daily with other members of the staff that are involved in breast health services and the treatment of breast disease. We participate in a weekly multidisciplinary conference to address the needs of our patients. Co-located with our Breast Surgeons in the new Penn State Hershey Breast Center, we provide convenience and the highest quality of care and address the comprehensive needs of women in a warm, comfortable environment.
