Research Sponsors

In seeking sponsored funding for health research, education, and patient care activities, investigators should consider several major categories of potential sponsors. Each of these sponsors has established priorities that make it particularly receptive to specific types of projects and less receptive to others. The challenge for an investigator is to match the funding needs of his or her program with the interests and resources of potential sponsors. For research projects, we encourage investigators to establish long term relationships with several sponsors to hopefully ensure the continuity of support from the pilot/feasibility phase through discovery, applied research, and eventually the development, patenting, licensing, and marketing of new drugs and medical devices.
