Approximately 75% of charitable contributions in the United States are made by individual donors. At Penn State University and Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, there are many opportunities for individual donors to support designated research programs, endowed chairs, fellowships, laboratories, etc. Unrestricted gifts to support basic and clinical research are especially helpful in fostering the development of research programs in special priority areas.
Research Development will assist investigators in preparing proposals for these and related needs. This will be done in consultation with the Office of University Development and Alumni Relations that administers gifts from individual donors. For advice and assistance in arranging gifts, endowments, and bequests, potential donors should contact the Director of University Development and Alumni Relations for Health Affairs 717-531-8497. Information for potential donors is also available at Penn State University Development website.
