Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesia (MOCA)
An American Society of Anesthesiologists Approved Course
The Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesia (MOCA) cycle was created in 1999 by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) and contains a 10 year time line for a board certified anesthesiologist's educational program. The MOCA requirements include four components that must be fulfilled every ten years. The Penn State Hershey Clinical Simulation Center has been endorsed by the ASA to provide MOCA Part 4 credit. Our simulation course gives practicing anesthesiologists the opportunity to experience challenging cases and rare events in a safe setting to facilitate thoughtful practice improvement.
Courses are offered several times a year. Class size is limited to provide individualized instruction with multiple opportunities for hands-on participation. Cases cover a range of perioperative care.
