Lung Sound Auscultation Trainer (LSAT)

The Lung Sound Auscultation Trainer allows trainees to learn to distinguish and identify lung sounds and diagnose their conditions. The lung sounds case structure follows American Thoracic Society classification. There are 35 programmed cases based on real life situations, with 33 of these cases being capable of being heard with or without heart sounds.

Respiration rates can be varied Lung sounds can be heard with or without a stethoscope at 15 auscultation sites, 7 anterior and 8 posterior. The trainer allows for learning of placement of a stethoscope and the relationship between sounds and auscultation sites. The rotating torso allows for examination mimicking that of a real patient.

The trainer also has external speakers for group study, problem-based learning and discussions.
