The Penn State Skin Diseases Program focuses on a variety of skin diseases affecting man. Currently, these include skin cancer, non-cancerous skin diseases, disorders and acne. The central goal of this program is to unravel the biology and signaling pathways involved in these skin ailments in order to develop the next generation of therapeutic agents to treat them. Specifically, it involves identification and validation of novel therapeutic targets, discovery & development of new treatments and clinical evaluation of these experimental drugs in patients.
