Internship Program

Graduate Internship Program:

The Office of Technology Development at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the College of Medicine is looking for talented, self-motivated, enthusiastic students who have interest in the following areas:

  • Patent related activities
  • Market valuation analysis 
  • Entrepreneurial, commercialization and business development activities related to the biotechnology and healthcare industries

Internship opportunities offered include: 

  • MBA - Business Specialist 
  • Ph.D./MBA - Science Translation Specialist 
  • JD - Intellectual Property Law Specialist 

Eligibility: To be eligible to participate in the internship program a graduate student or post-doctoral fellow must be in their 2nd or 3rd year and in good academic standing. Interested students are encouraged to apply, however, preference will be given to students enrolled in Penn State graduate level programs: Smeal College of Business and the College of Medicine, Pharmacology - Penn State Harrisburg Ph.D./MBA program.

Undergraduate Internship Program:

The Office of Technology Development (OTD) offers a marketing specialist internship on a rolling basis throughout the year.

Eligibility: To be eligible to participate in the undergraduate internship program a student must be enrolled full/part time in a business, marketing, communications or similar program and in good academic standing.

Internship Opportunity Offered:

  • Undergraduate Marketing Specialist

Intern specialist opportunities are offered to talented, self-motivated, enthusiastic students who present an interest in marketing, event management, business development and commercialization activities in an academic research setting.

All activities related to the internship program is centered on the work conducted in the Office of Technology Development at the Penn State College of Medicine and Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and related to its faculty/staff's inventions and discoveries developed in the field of biotechnology and the healthcare industry.
