University Fitness Center - Specialty Class - Kendo
Kendo (Way of the Sword), The Art and Sport of Japanese Fencing: Kendo is a physically and mentally challenging activity that combines strong martial arts values with sport-like physical elements.

$75 Paid in Advance, $80 Paid Day of
*UFC Non-Members who enroll in this Specialty Class may be eligible for reimbursement of up to $75 for three months of consecutive participation through Blueprints for Wellness and Highmark. Eligibility requirements include:
- Non-UFC Member
- PSHMC Employee, Spouse or Partner, and Dependents (minimum age of 12)
- Participant must be covered under the PSHMC health plan
Participants who want to receive the Specialty Class reimbursement will need to complete the reimbursement form and provide the required documentation listed on the form. Any questions regarding this benefit should be directed to Lynley Lapp at x289355.
Please note: This reimbursement is not eligible for PSHMC Employees, Spouses or Partners, and Dependents who are UFC Members because they are automatically enrolled in the fitness membership reimbursement.
Bruce Gingrich has over 24 years of martial arts experience with black belts in Kendo, Kumdo and Isshin Ryu Karate. He is a member of the Eastern United States Kendo Federation and the All United States Kendo Federation with the rank of Yon-dan (4th degree). He is also the instructor for the Penn State Kendo Club in State College, PA.
Through the art of Kendo, Sensei Gingrich would like to help practitioners to experience the excitement and thrill of kendo as a sport. At the same time, he will endeavor to guide the student to cultivate and enhance their personal character along with mental and spiritual fortitude.
Additionally, Dr. Gingrich is a 1995 graduate of Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in Spartansburg, SC and has a private practice in Palmyra.
